Eva Lechtenberg-Auffarth

Dr. Eva Lechtenberg-Auffarth is a Scientific Officer in the BAuA (German Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health) for more than 30 years.  Her work focuses on risk management for new and existing substances, substitution of hazardous substances and risk assessment risk communication (safety data sheet, classification & labelling). Dr. Lechtenberg-Auffarth was member of the EU-Expert Group for Risk Reduction Measures on Existing Substances, and was Head of Delegation for the Dangerous Preparations Directive. Under REACH she was Member in the project on Downstream Users and, national delegate for the Guidance on SDS. She works in the German Hazardous Substances Committee in drafting guidance on risk assessment, risk reduction measures and substitution. Dr. Lechtenberg-Auffarth's degree is in chemistry.
